Role Overview
Responsible for overseeing the Microsoft Infrastructure Platform, covering physical, VCentre, and Cloud systems. Daily tasks include:
- Control of Windows systems
- Management and maintenance of VMware infrastructure
- Building and installing computer infrastructure
- Configuration of servers
- System administration
- Backup and recovery
- Technical support
- Testing and deployment of new components
- Patching servers to fix vulnerabilities
- Ensuring servers meet cyber security baseline (CSB) requirements
Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership
- Installation, Upgrade, and Maintenance:
- Install, upgrade, and maintain all Windows operating systems, services, and 3rd party products.
- Perform hardware and software upgrades according to specifications.
- Performance Monitoring and Backup:
- Monitor performance and perform regular backups.
- Execute recovery procedures and ensure compliance with backup procedures.
- User Management and Security:
- Add/delete users, user directories, passwords, and applications.
- Implement security policies and administer security rules.
- Provide system accounting reports and carry out Windows-based projects.
- Administration and Monitoring:
- Administer and monitor Active Directory, serving as a Domain Administrator.
- Research and resolve issues, provide root cause analysis, and document findings.

- Configuration and Management:
- Exceptional track record in configuring and managing the Microsoft Infrastructure Platform.
- Hardening and patching of Windows operating systems.
- Understanding of working in a rapidly changing operational and cultural environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Working knowledge of virtualization and cloud computing.
- Strong problem diagnosing and troubleshooting skills.
- Support for the greater use of automation in key activities.
Qualifications and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred.
- MCITP, MCSE, or equivalent.
- 4 or more years of Microsoft administration.
- 2+ years’ experience in antivirus administration and support.
- 2+ years’ experience with virtual servers, VMWARE, Windows Terminal Server Management, Security, and Server Configuration.
