At Zipline, we’re seeking dedicated individuals to join our Flight Operations team, where you’ll play a vital role in delivering critical medical supplies to healthcare facilities safely and efficiently. Working alongside skilled flight support operators, you’ll ensure our drones are ready for action through meticulous pre-flight checks, launches, and recoveries.
Key Responsibilities
As a Flight Operations team member, your work will keep our drone delivery system running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing drones for over 150 daily flights by assembling and conducting thorough pre-flight inspections.

Coordinating with Zipline controllers to ensure readiness for launches and managing drone disassembly upon return to the Distribution Center.

Promptly reporting fleet or system issues to the flight operations team for quick resolution.

Communicating clearly with flight technicians and shift coordinators about any challenges or bottlenecks during launch and recovery.

Supporting incident response teams effectively and safely when required.

Maintaining sharp attention to detail in both routine and unexpected situations, alerting shift coordinators or maintenance technicians as needed.

Adhering consistently to all standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and quality guidelines.

Fostering clear and effective communication within and across teams, especially during high-volume operations.

Contributing to team-building efforts and workplace initiatives that strengthen Zipline’s community and values.

Proactively identifying issues and taking initiative to address them when appropriate.

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking candidates who bring technical expertise and a passion for our mission. Here’s what you’ll need:

A diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering, Drone Engineering Technology, or equivalent technical training (e.g., National Service or Vocational Training personnel with a technical background).

Enthusiasm for hands-on fieldwork and a willingness to tackle challenging tasks.

Ability to stay focused, humble, and safety-conscious during 12-hour shifts.

Comfort working in a fast-paced environment, staying active and engaged throughout your shift.
