Job Position: DEPUTY PHARMACY MANAGER
Reports to: PHARMACY MANAGER
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly – Pharmacy Staff; Indirectly – Wards & Theatre, Dental Unit, Eye Ear and Nose Unit.

- Asset Management (Loss Control)
Responsibilities and duties
- Provide expert clinical knowledge for medicines both at the ward and outpatient for the optimization of therapy to members in the multidisciplinary team as appropriate.
- Lead in clinical quality improvement projects, development and implementation of treatment protocols and guidelines for use of medicines.
- Provide expert advice / direction in the review/ formulation of policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), procedure manuals, work plan and other support systems in managing the operations of the Hospital.
- Promote optimal pharmacotherapy.
- Evaluate the appropriateness of medication therapies, assess their effectiveness, and identify potential interactions or adverse effects on patients-specific medications for improvement.
- Ensure that good clinical governance is integrated in all pharmacy practices and procedures including patient confidentiality and incident reporting.
- Provide professional advice and counselling services to doctors, patients and the public as may be required from time to time.
- Participate in and provide input to, hospital infection control programmes as required.
Education and Experience:
- Doctor of Pharmacy Degree, or equivalent recognized qualification
- Membership Ghana College of Pharmacists plus any other additional qualification
- Evidence of good standing with the Pharmacy Council of Ghana.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Previous experience in multidisciplinary management of diseases both chronic and acute care.
- Computer Literate including knowledge of Hospital Information systems.
- Ability to engage various stakeholders and must be able to deliver exceptional customer service.
